BRENT ARCHER, CONNECTIONS CHAIR

Brent Archer is founder and President of Archer Consulting Services, LLC, providing expertise in the areas of regulatory and legislative policy, economic development, advancement of new energy technologies and stakeholder outreach and collaboration.

He retired in 2023 from his position of President and Chief Operating Officer for Columbia Gas of Virginia. Over his 30-plus year career in the energy industry he worked in communications, public and government affairs, regulatory and operations management.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism-Public Relations from Marshall University and an MBA from the West Virginia College of Graduate Studies. In 2023 he was appointed to the Board of Visitors at Christopher Newport University by Governor Glenn Youngkin. Brent has been active as past Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Chesterfield Food Bank, and past President of the Virginia Oil and Gas Association. He has served on the Boards of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce and the Virginia Business Council.

He is a Deacon at the Southwest Church of Christ where he oversees the adult education ministry. Brent is an avid runner and fisherman and enjoys reading historic biographies. Brent and his wife, Dr. Andrea Archer, reside in Midlothian, VA with their two children. Emily is a student at Christopher Newport University, studying Marketing and Graphic Arts. Brian is a student at The Steward School in Henrico, VA.
